AUMC has been active in ministering to communities abroad since 1989 when we took our first international mission trip to Brazil with the help of the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM). Since that time, we have sent numerous teams around the world to location such as Puerto Rico, Panama, Venezuela, Mexico, Bolivia, Costa Rica and Ecuador. We feel it is our calling to not only visit these locations for a week out of the year, but to build ongoing relationships that encourage and nurture the spiritual growth of our sister-communities.
Missions is a huge part of our faith community here at AUMC, and we encourage everyone to get involved in some way, whether by going on a trip, supporting a trip member financially or prayerfully or helping us to support one of the missionaries we partner with. We know that God has called each of us to care for His people, and we count it an honor to be living out that calling in the foreign locations where He has chosen to call our church.
