Stew Armstrong, Director of College Ministries

The two things I love the most in my life are honoring God with my family and with the ministry He’s graciously allowed me to serve in. I’ve been married for 8+ years, and Sarah has truly been a blessing to me as a coworker in ministry and now as a full-time mom of three. I absolutely love walking in the door after a long day at work to the (usually) joyful cries of my children, Charis (5), Callaghan (3), and Joseph (rather small- OK, so his cries are real cries).

While I was in college God used a series of events to call me into full time Christian ministry, and I’ve been involved in full time ministry of some sort for around 14 years. I’m a graduate of Baylor University and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM), and I’ve been at AUMC since the summer of 2007 when we began the college ministry here.

My life verse is 2 Timothy 2:2, which says “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” I want this ministry to reflect this challenge.

I used to love doing all sorts of sports, wakeboarding, soccer, football, volleyball, etc… But now I’m old and my kids are slowing me down, so I now prefer singing, playing percussion & other instruments, watching college football, 24, or the office, eating at Pappasito’s in Houston, drinking sweet tea, reading, and wrestling with my kids.
