New Meeting Space for College Ministry!
When you come back in January, be sure to check us out in our newly redesigned College Room at the AUMC Annex (formerly St. Michael's Catholic Church). It's the big building on the left if you're standing on Magnolia Street and looking at the Sanctuary. We just painted, put down new flooring and more to give us our own space to meet for Sunday school and small groups (as well as hang out, study and do whatever!) Come check it out! *Remember: DIVE will still be held in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday nights!
AUMC College Ministry
We are a community of college aged people journeying together to grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Our ministry is not just a worship service, a cool tailgate party, or a big church. We are not about programs or having the coolest worship experience on campus (though our worship leader might have the coolest hair on campus). We are a family, brothers & sisters in Christ encouraging and challenging each other to know God, and make Him known. We encourage those who are down, reach the needy, challenge each other when we’re struggling, and love each other mercilessly. Nope, we’re not great at all these things yet- but boy are we trying.
We do this by digging into God’s Word together and studying it thoroughly. God has chosen to reveal Himself to us through His Word, so we need to dig in together to better understand and apply it to our lives. Stew has never been one who has been content hearing or teaching the same boring, shallow content of the Word. He think God’s Word is alive and active and is the most powerful book in the world! Why would we want to water it down? But shame on us if we bore you with it… we want to make it relevant to your life!
We also do this through prayer. Prayer is the power behind everything we do.
It will not matter if we have the greatest preaching in the world, the greatest sound system, lights, and band. It will all mean nothing if the Holy Spirit is not moving through prayer, our efforts are in vein. Join our prayer team each week before DIVE. Pray for each other regularly and don’t just cliché say “I’ll pray for that.” It is our privilege to openly communicate with the God of the universe! This is our power.
