Adult Ministries at AUMC consists mainly of Bible studies and Sunday school classes designed to get you more connected to our church family through the group-study of Scripture, as well as fun times of fellowship. We feel that it is important to go beyond the one-hour Sunday morning experience and dive into the full life of the church. Getting involved in a regular study opportunity is a great way to meet new friends and strengthen relationships. But don't just ask us...read what our members are saying about getting involved!
Getting Involved with Adult Ministries
"Adult Sunday School helps make our large church 'more personal,'" according to Sarah Goolsby, AUMC’s director of adult ministries. “Our Christian faith is not an ‘individual’ faith, but one we experience through a faith community."
Jon Waggoner and his wife Kammi credit their Sunday School for their friendships. "For the first time in my life, the people I go to Sunday School with are also the ones I hang out with socially and during other church activities,” he says. “My Sunday School friends keep me accountable socially and spiritually, and because of the depth of our class relationships, I feel I have a more engaging spiritual experience.”
